Alfred Worthington: Leaving Aberystwyth Harbour into a headwind, 1897

Alfred Worthington (1835-1925) was born in Kent. He had drawing lessons as a child but never undertook any formal training. Due to ill health he and his family moved to Aberystwyth where he established a photographic studio. He also became a prolific painter producing a variety of works including maritime scenes, animals and landscapes.
