Jessica Hayllar: When First we Meet, 1892

Jessica Ellen Hayllar (1858-1940) was a British artist and painter who regularly exhibited at the Royal Academy in London. She often painted domestic scenes, local villagers and depicted family occasions and gatherings. Windows and doorways were another frequent theme in her work, and in later life she tended to focus more on flowers, particularly azaleas.
